Growing up in 1930s rural Indiana, our Papal envied those blue corduroy jackets. Coming from a family that could barely feed him and his sister, at 16, he traded in the hopes for a FFA jacket for army greens. Faking his age & joining the service during WWII, he turned 18 in the jungles of Burma fighting for life and country. When his 3 only grandchildren fell in love with their family farm and joined Future Farmers of America, he saw to it they each got what he had wanted so badly.
What seems like just a jacket can open doors to paid travel, scholarships and changing the life of our agricultural youth. Jackets are needed to compete and hold club offices at all levels. With the help of donations we can give someone the chance to add to that resume, build confidence and change a life.
In his honor we now opened a scholarship awarding up to 3 recipients across the nation their own infamous corduroy. If you know someone deserving or are striving for that blue and gold yourself, send us your info.
